Airstrip One or a General Systems Vehicle?

Good to see the retirement from service of the "Blair" class General Systems Vehicle (We had the) "Best Intentions" (in mind) from Special Circumstances.

Seriously, everything Blair has come out with lately, especially regarding his "legacy", has made him sound more and more like a "Culture Mind", his slogans being suitable GSV names. But I guess there is a connection between the arrogance of the fictional civilisaton's Contact and Special Circumstances divisions and Blair (and the Neocons) belief in Britain in particular and the West in general as some sort of Utopian society, bringing Civilisation (as it sees it) to Barbarian (read: Muslim?) cultures.

There is another, more general connection: Blair's (and Geldof, Bono etc) "moral right to exist" and the reasons for the Idiran-Culture War in Bank's fiction. In the real and fictional worlds there is a need for one to justify their status by preaching to those without that apparent status.
