Thought you should read this:

also sort of fits in with this: Proving the State perpetuates poverty. The US government spends millions of dollars every year subsidising her cotton farmers.

In order to keep the price of cotton down, these subsidies basically pay for the kinds of equipment and fertiliser that third world cotton farmers would never be able to afford.

If cotton were to be sold higher than the "market" (read: artificially low) rate, then maybe said third world cotton farmers would be allowed to make a decent living. US taxpayers would also now longer need to subsidise their own farmers. In fact, without the subsidy US cotton farmers would either have to produce something else or they would have to put the price of cotton up as well as employing more workers. It may also be said that American farmers would use renewable sources of fertiliser.

State subsidies stop American farmers being both more environmentally conscious and from employing more workers, in other words they stop people in the developed and developing worlds from working their way out of poverty.

Bloody Francoist ("if a third of the masculine population have to be killed to save Spain then so be it")Uses same language:

Too peed of to comment on this any further. I just hope people won't buy into the idea of a perpetual war.Again.

Regards the Philip Lawrence thingy: Would his widow have been happy if his killer were English?

I can just imagine some TV dramatisation:"Oh, if only my husband could have been killed by a nice white, middle class English boy instead of some foreign oik nigger. I'd be much happier then and he'd have gone to White Heaven and not the black one."

Needs to be said.

Racism and nationalism imply a lack of self-awareness.
