MAKE GLOBALISATION WORK

Make the UN declare a Global Minimum Wage

Being four dollars an hour or forty dollars per day

For women two hundred dollars a week after tax

For children the same

Women should have a legal limit of thirty hours a week, being the amount they can legally be asked to work.
For child labourers being sixteen hours

Education

Is education a vice?
Or does it grip you like one?
To  be so institutionalised
You cannot see a way out

Freedom or imprisonment
Lost in a sea of textbooks
Enough money to escape
But escape to where?
To destitution?
Imprisonment?
The escape of the bottle?

Something which has never occurred to me
But what choice did I have?
Keep calm and carry on?
Now that just sounds like a contradiction in terms
Get angry and dig your feet into the ground!

I cannot FORGIVE myself

For the things I have never done
Try to do things right
But feel like I'm still being punished

Is poverty a virtue?
So, no poverty of spirit?
So, not poor at all

Imprisoned on a lonely planet is like
Freedom over an infinite flat surface

I could visit the stars given time
and patience
But star travellers have surely lost patience
with the world

The world is where
there is more than just you
Expanding or contracting boundaries
